Illinois Phi Beta Lambda 2011 National Leadership Conference Results

Approximately 35 students, advisers, professional division members, and guests from Illinois traveled to the 2011 Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Orlando, Florida, from June 23-26, 2011. The PBL NLC was attended by over 1,800 registered members, advisers, professional division members, and guests—the largest NLC ever held for Phi Beta Lambda. Following are the results from the 2011 National Leadership Conference:

•  Gold Seal Chapter Award—Southwestern Illinois College

•  1 st place, Professional Division Membership, North Central Region, Southwestern Illinois College

•  2 nd place, Professional Division Membership, North Central Region, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale

•  1 st place, Illinois, Largest Professional Division Membership, North Central Region, Illinois

•  1st place, State Recruitment of Chapters (3 chapters recruited), North Central Region, Illinois

•  1 st place, Most CMAP (Career and Member Achievement Program) participants by school, North Central Region, University of Illinois

•  2 nd place, Largest Chapter in North Central Region, University of Illinois

•  Kadarrious Hooks, Richland Community College, Membership Mania Award

Michael Kennedy, Illinois Central College, was elected PBL National Treasurer for the 2011-2012 membership year.\

Kyle Pruden, Kaskaskia College and Chris Pulec, Richland Community College, served as North Central Region Action Council Members for the North Central Region during the 2010-2011 membership year.

Tina Dierkes, Illinois PBL State Adviser, Southwestern Illinois College, served as past chair for the FBLA-PBL National Board of Directors for 2010-2011. Darlene Shannon, FBLA-PBL State Chair, served as a national board member beginning in 2011.
