Do you have to live in Illinois to be a member?
No, you do not have to live in Illinois or attend school in Illinois
to be a member of the Illinois PBL Virtual Chapter.
What are the membership dues for the school year?
Membership dues are $8 for state dues and $10 for national dues, for
a total of $18. There are currently no local chapter dues. Dues are for
August 1 through July 31.
Do I have to have a chapter at my college/university?
No, this is the purpose of the Virtual Chapter. You must be attending
a college or university that does not have a PBL chapter
in order to be a member of the Virtual Chapter.
Who is the adviser?
The adviser is Tina Dierkes, Illinois PBL State Adviser. She can be

Who are the chapter officers?
The President is Sheri Vahlkamp, Vice Preisdent is TBD,
and Secretary/Treasurer is TBD.
Can I still take leadership positions?
Yes, you are still eligible for all of the leadership positions in PBL.
There are three officers in the Virtual Chapter: President, Vice President,
and Secretary/Treasurer. You are also eligible for state officer positions,
which include: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian.
Virtual Chapter members can also run for national officer positions,
if they meet all of the requirements.\
Are meetings held, and if so, how?
Yes, meetings are held throughout the year and are either held in the
Virtual Chapter message board or through another instant messaging service,
such as AOL or MSN.
Do you still get to attend conferences?
Yes, Virtual Chapter members are eligible to attend both State and National
conferences throughout the course of the membership year. There are no
exclusions to this, other than you must be a member in good standing.
